Understanding Your STAR Profile

A deep dive into the four dimensions of introversion and what your scores reveal about you.

Introversion Isn't One Thing

The STAR model recognizes that introversion shows up differently in different people. Your profile is made up of four distinct facets, each capturing a different aspect of how you relate to the world.

Social Energy

This facet measures how much social interaction depletes your energy reserves. A high score means you need more significant solitude to recover after social situations. A moderate score means you have a balanced social battery. This isn't about disliking people — it's about how quickly your internal resources get used up.

Inner World

This captures the richness of your internal landscape — imagination, daydreaming, deep thought, and reflective processing. A high score means you have a vivid and active inner life that's a genuine source of energy and creativity. This is often where introverts do their best thinking.

Social Ease

This measures your comfort level in social situations. A high score means you feel relatively at ease in social settings — you can work a room when needed, even if you need recovery afterward. A lower score means social situations require more conscious effort and energy from you.

Note

Remember: Social Ease is about comfort, not about how much you enjoy people. Someone with lower social ease might deeply value their close relationships while finding large groups challenging.

Deliberate Pace

This facet reflects how intentionally you move through life — preferring to think before acting, savoring experiences rather than rushing, and choosing depth over speed. A high score means you naturally gravitate toward a measured, thoughtful approach to decisions and daily life.

Your Unique Combination

No two introverts are the same, because everyone's combination of these four facets is unique. Someone with high Social Energy and high Social Ease looks very different from someone with high Inner World and high Deliberate Pace — yet both are genuinely introverted. Your STAR profile helps you understand your specific flavor of introversion.

Reflect

Look at your STAR radar chart. Which facet surprised you most? Which felt immediately obvious? The surprises often reveal the most valuable insights.
